Figure it out on your own

Hello Internet-

So, I'm not even sure if anyone is even really reading this other than my followers- but like I said in my very first post, it is not about who is following or who is reading this, it is about getting my thoughts, ideas, and beliefs for other people to see; if they chose to do so.

I learned a lesson yesterday. I mean, I learn lessons every day, that's life, but I learned a valuable one I already knew. When something is going wrong you can't have someone else tell you that it's not right, you need to see that it is wrong in order to correctly fix it.

Do not be blind to yourself. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has that one person that has that magical power over us. That magical power could possibly start blinding us to the life you started, make things gray and fuzzy again. That power so strong you can't deny it. What I realized, is that powers can be over come.

We need to realize that old habits are old habits. You can't change or be different if you are always falling into bad habits. For example. An alcoholic- always an alcoholic, hence why they can't drink ever again once they go sober.

An ex is always going to be an ex. If you shared some sort of bond with them it will always come back. But I will tell you now, do not let someone else ruin what you have in your life. If it is good- keep it, if it's bad get rid of it.

Internet, I know you are smart. Just be aware of your surroundings. Be aware of what makes you happy. Be aware of what you are doing wrong or right. It isn't a bad thing if you are doing things wrong- you are just being human.

So Internet- Last thing I want to say to you, figure your flaws out on your own. Don't let people tell you who you are or who you aren't. Secondly, find that love within yourself. If you don't love yourself you won't be able to let people in to love you as well.

Have a wonderful day everyone,

This book.

Hello Internet-
So I have been hidden in a book lately. "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron. I think I have talked about it before, but lately I have actually had time to read more than 10 pages. I recommend people read it. The thing she stresses is how life isn't over when we feel it is.

"We are raised in a culture that fears death and hides it from us. Nevertheless, we experience it all the time. We experience it in the form of disappointment, in the form of things not working out. We experience it in the form of things always being in a process of change. When the day ends, when the second ends, when we breathe out, that's death in every day life. Death in everyday life could also be defined as experiencing all the things that we don't want...When we have reminders of death, we panic. But whatever our style is, it's not simple. It's not bare bones."(pg 43-44)

One of my close friends' grandfather passed away from cancer this past week. We live to die, we all know this. Yet we fear the idea of death. The idea of things ending. I don't get why we fear it so much, because with every death comes life. When the day ends, tomorrow is a new one; when the second ends, there are more to follow; when we breathe out, we breathe in shortly after. That's life in everyday life.

The thing about Death is, we fear it because no one shines the light on such an optimistic topic. Death is the only way we get something new. We have a bad day, tomorrow will be better. With each death comes life, and THAT is everyday life.

So Internet- when we start seeing death in our lives, think about the life that comes from them.

Never Know.

Hello Internet-

So today is a blah day. BEAUTIFUL out, but hot as hell. Why so blah? It's funny, life has a way of giving you things you weren't expecting. Something so perfect and so strong could in the blink of an eye break and seem so flawed. But isn't that the point? For life to give you this great thing and then pull it away?

It's kinda funny though, it's like life is constantly telling us to keep a look out, and to never feel too comfortable. Because life is ALWAYS changing. And I know I have talked about this in previous posts, but today that is all I can think about. The moment we get too comfortable, everything switches and then it doesn't feel comfortable anymore.

Ultimately, it'll all be okay, and we should know that. It always ends up being okay anyway. It's like that quote I hear a lot too "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."

So Internet, I think I just need to enjoy the sun, enjoy my day, and remember- life goes on.

Black and White

Hello Internet:

So, I started thinking today while I was waiting in the health center to only get told I have bronchitis symptoms, how much easier life would be if it was black and white. No grays, no hazy white, or dull blacks. Just this is what it is, and this is what I want, and I got it.

The thing is- There are always grays, there are always hazy whites, and there are always dull blacks. I found a drawing today my ex boyfriend/best friend had drawn for me. It was a sunset with a boat sailing into it. On the back, said this is to symbolize you and me moving forward. Our amazing bond will never break, because you and me have something too special. You will always be mine- I want you and no one else.

Something like that.

Funny thing is, is a few weeks after he had sent me that, our relationship deteriorated, and our friendship started falling apart. My heart ached for days and days, this painful throb in my chest never seemed to stop. It pounded with each footstep I took and each breath that entered my lungs. The one thing that kept me holding on for so many years had vanished from my life.

I look back on it, and the only thing that actually kept us together was this "love" we shared. This bond we had where we just knew we literally had no one else. It was only me he could come to, only me he would want to be with, only me he could run to. It was White. It all was angelic and what I thought was this perfect friendship, this perfect love. Once the hazy whites sunk in is when my heart started breaking.

It seems life is much simpler if it is all in black and white, much less painful. This girl started talking to me about this situation with this stupid ignorant boy. Here he let this amazing girl go, and then goes flaunting other girls he's all over in front of her. I'm not sure when this dull black became acceptable in society, but I will say one thing.

The haziest days are always the hardest to pull through, but when we have that white or black to hold our hands along the way it makes it a little easier.

Our hearts are going to ache and hurt regardless of if we want them to. I can tell myself day after day this ex best(boy) friend is out of my mind, out of my life, but with every day my mind goes back to him my heart aches for him.

There is always that hole in our lives, that hazy white, or that dull black that taunts us. That says life is not perfect. But, there is always that one thing that some how magically fills that hole and makes your life pure and white.

I thought my life would never be white again, but my consistent gratitude and my positive mind gave me this gift I now can call mine. This hole that has been filled. Sure, I still have those moments of grays, where life seems so complicated and so incomplete, but my point of this blog post Internet is to show you that although things may seem worse at the time. There is always a better tomorrow that you can create.

"A luxury so hard to find"

Hello Internet:

So this song has been played a lot lately, due to a friend and because it is absolutely amazing.

Gone Away- by Safetysuit

"I think about life, and oh how it changes so fast.
And oh how it's so hard to last here waiting for something to give.
I think about time, a LUXURY so hard to find.
And I just can't figure out why I wasted it all here without you.

But I'll be fine, oh don't you worry
Cause I'll be fine, see I'm in a hurry to be gone away awhile.
Tell me all the things that I- I'll be missing here,
In this old life, man cause I just don't know.

I think about you, and all of the times that we shared.
And oh what a wonderful pair, we made it so far- here we go again.
I think about love, and oh what a beautiful song
And oh how it needs to be sung here sing it so loud all the world can here

I think I'll be gone away awhile.
Tell me all the things that I-I'll be missing here in this old life, man cause I just don't know."

First of all, the first verse is so true. Time: what do we know about it. We have 24 hours in a day, however many minutes that is and same with seconds. We know schedules, such as I have a paper due in a week. If we don't have schedules and don't have time we freak out. I didn't know when my writing paper was due and was stressing, until I found out it was due later in March. If we don't know what is going on in a relationship- our minds freak out!

-Maybe he doesn't actually like me?
-Maybe he just needs some ass?
-Maybe this is a bet, a joke, a lesson?

When we don't know the answers to things- our natural tendency is to spaz out! But I ask you this Internet- what are we doing with the spazzing out we all do?

We are wasting this luxury of time. Wasting time to get to know someone else, to move on, to learn, to grow, to experience.

I guess what I'm saying is there aren't enough hours in a day to get all of the things we need to get done, done. But that isn't a bad thing. Handle your time how you want, and next time you don't know the answer to something...just go along with the ride of life. It has a plan for us and you are going where you were meant to be.

Black History Month

Hello Internet:

I apologize for no post, but today I will do one now, and another later on. In honor of black history month, I am going to talk about race and our nationalities. My friend told me a story about how someone used the word Indian as a racial slur. But look at it the other way. Let's say ( to those of us that are white) we were a darker color. What would you do if someone called you "nigger" , "Indian", "chino" etc.

Where we came up with these racist acts/words is beyond me. We are all human and all the same regardless ofthe color of our skin. I guess what I am trying to say is don't judge. One of the greatest and most wise men I know is black. Some of the most genuine people I have met are black. These people know how it feels to be discriminated against, an because of that are the most open, sincere people in our society today. Don't get me wrong, a lot of my white friends are sincere and honest as well, but there is something special about ethnic people.

They seem to laugh more, enjoy life, and just live better. They have fully understood what sister/brotherhood is about and are there for eachother. They use their race as an advantage to build better friendships, where as the whites are lost. Their big heads run with the idea that they are the "best" at everything.

So I challenge you Internet: in the month of black history month- reach out to different races and learn from them.

A New Chapter

Hello Internet:

After all has been said and done, think about all you do. Remember where you came from- and don't let others change you.

Although I am starting a new chapter in my life, I am challenged to change into more of a well-rounded person. To be more open and less judgmental. Life has created this outlook that we all need to be stick thin, blond, and drop. dead. gorgeous! And in reality, we all are. Whether we are 100 or 200 pounds, there is beauty in all of us.

A new chapter means a new beginning, but don't forget where you came from, and please don't lose the person you are.

Over all I leave you with this: Create new surroundings for yourself and embrace them, don't let the surroundings embrace you.

Passion.

Hello Internet:

I apologize for not posting yesterday- had a ummm...interesting day to say the least. Haha. Today has been a torturing day, I find out very useful information at 3 today, and it is killing me! Haha, I just want to know now :-).

Anywho... I talked about this book called 1,000 Journals Project already by um SOMEGUY. And today, I was inspired again by this author. There is one entree that says, "Is fire born within each heart or sparked by experience?" And funny enough- everything that I have been around lately has all been based off experience and observing. And what a good question...are we naturally just passionate about things or do we need to go through things in order to find passion within ourselves?

Honestly I think it is a little bit of both. Yesterday I was thrown into old habits, yet changed it by "closing my hands on what I wanted" and not letting the things get ripped away from me. The passion was sparked by experience and past experiences to be so angry and care so much about the situation that occured. If I had not gone through half of the things I have, I would've blown it off and not cared or what have you.

Although, fire is born within each heart too. Think about it...you don't need experience to know you would do ANYTHING for any one of your family members. You don't need to talk with them about loving them no matter what; it just is.

So I ask you Internet; passion? Love? Experience? Wisdom? Think about how all of these things come together in order to light this fire that burns with in you. What is the fuel added that makes you more passionate about whatever, or what is the water that dims the fire and makes you not give a shit. Think about the wants, the not wants, and the in-betweens. You have all you want, it's just a matter of what you think is worth fighting for.

-Miss Optimistic.

P.S.- I read on someone's facebook profile a quote... it said, " It's never too late to change your life." Remember this, it will come up in later posts.

A Friendly Reminder

Hello Internet:

A double dose today. I felt bad about my last post and just wanted to say, regardless of whatever struggles you have dealt with or gone through- remember you are beautiful and people do really care. People will surprise you.

One of my biggest "flaws", if you will, is opening up to people...and honestly I don't get why. I have fully opened up once and that special boy is no longer in my life, nor do I want him in my life anymore...at all. But I started thinking today, when a friend of mine said "not everyone is out to hurt you". I disagreed at the time, but maybe that's why this friend has stumbled into my life- to guide me back into having faith and trust in people.

We can't have these walls built so high, how are we supposed to live and keep living if we are trapped within our own thick beautiful skin? I challenge you Internet, open up to someone. Someone you care for and trust, someone who is genuine and seems to want to be there for you. I promise you, the few that are reading it right now, I will slowly disassemble my walls. It is time I let love in, it is time I let people care and want to care about me the way I do them. It is time for a change in my life- why not make one in yours?

Internet I am slowly realizing the main objective of this blog is to challenge you. To push you to your limits and show the world what you have been so fearful to reveal. So I leave you with this: what has been stopping you from making your life more enjoyable? If you like/enjoy it, keep it around. Don't let anyone other than yourself tell you what you are or are not capable of.

REALLY?!

Hello Internet:

So today I have been inspired to write twice.

I got a text from an old friend saying: "Hey you! Answer me this, why do things always happen in groups? Good or bad, things seem to occur round the same time."

My response: "Haha what do you mean? You mean like why is it when something good is going on; it seems everything is good at the time and vice versa?"

He says: "Yea long them lines. I told ya about this one girl at work, well now there's another girl interested too! Luckily, I only work with one of them... ;-)"

{note- some of these words have been changed due to language that I feel is disrespectful to women.}

So I ask you Internet....and excuse my language, because this type of thing really pisses me off... WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

Seriously, I am so tired of people who take everything they have for granted- and they wonder why they are not happy! Every one wants and wants and wants more, but they never take a look at what they have!!!

Quotes from The Secret:
Marci Shimoff once said, "Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life."

James Ray once said, "Gratitude has been such a powerful exercise for me. Every morning I get up and say 'Thank you.' Every morning when my feet hit the floor, 'Thank you.' And then I start running through what I'm grateful for, as I'm brushing my teeth and doing the things I do in the morning. And I'm not just thinking about them and doing some rote routine. I'm putting it out there and I'm feeling the feelings of GRATITUDE."

So I ask you Internet- What are you grateful for?

I am grateful for my Mom. Without her I would not be the strong independent person I am today. Although we have had our arguments and disagreements, she has done nothing but guide me to where I should be. Ultimately, she would do anything for me, and vice versa. She has listened to me cry and bitch and complain about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and yet she still sits there and listens. Mom- if you read this, know that I thank you tremendously for everything you have done for me...I love you unconditionally and would be lost with out you. You are my sun on a cloudy day! And know if you ever need anything, since you have done so much for me- know I AM ALWAYS there for you...even if it may seem weird coming to me for things, I am here.

My sisters- They have done nothing but show me what to be, and of course.... (no offense) what not to be. Know that I love you both and as with Mom, would be lost without you. You have taught me more than I could know! What you may see as your flaws; I see as your strengths. You both are strong and beautiful and smart women, and even if I am rude and angry sometimes: know I give tough love and I just want to see both of you happy and successful.

My dad- I am thankful that you have taught me many things about life in the business world and life as a grown up. If anything our relationship has taught me to grow up quicker. Without having a father around emotionally of physically forced me to search with in myself and find that comfort of a father. Whether you read this or not, doesn't matter... you haven't gotten it before, so I don't think this will change your mind. I ask you Dad. What are you grateful for? I know that in some odd way of showing it, you do love us, and always will...but why do you only do things on your terms. Me and my sisters have been trying to get it through your head that all we wanted was a dad around...and that we love you. You are a part of all of us and would do anything for you, and we appreciate all that you do for us...but I ask, why isn't that enough? Sometimes I feel you take us for granted, but one day when one of us isn't there anymore...I think you will be very sad at what you missed out on.

MY DOG! I am so grateful for my dog. He is my everything and my best friend. I love him with every inch of love I can give.

My friends of course who have been there for me through whatever. Don't change- listen to people, and keep loving as you do. Be accepting and continue to grow. I'm glad you have been with me, I would not have made it without you through all of my past struggles.

Lastly, I am thankful for today, for the luxuries I have, my education, my travels, all of the unimportant things that we really don't need in life. I am thankful for every breathe, for every bite of food, for every sip of water.

I am thankful for my life and what I have to offer those that are around me.

So, Internet: now that I have opened up a bit and gone on a more personal level; which was not intended...take a look around at what you have.

Things happen, like I said in a few posts ago, NOTHING is permanent. Live for today, that's why they call it the "present" because every day is a gift.

Much love and Thanks
-Miss Optimistic.
